Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Technical Specialist to join a leading Stem Cell Therapeutics company based in the Bridgend area. As the Technical Specialist you will be responsible for being the point of contact for technical support for analytical methods. You will also lead the transfer and qualification of new methods for characterisation and QC purposes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Technical Specialist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will carry out laboratory techniques such as, but not limited to, FAQS, ELISA, PCR, and use cell imaging technologies. You will also work with stem cell tissue culturing.

2. Your position will involve carrying out the planning, co-ordinating and execution of analytical experiments. Leading in house investigations and release testing will be among your duties.

3. As the assay Technical Specialist, you will take the lead as an SME in assay development and optimisation. You will also support the transfer and improvement activities.

4. You will liaise with third parties and maintain and organise the CMC facility. You will also plan and perform activities to support CMC.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Technical Specialist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree, masters or PhD in Cell Biology or Biochemistry or a released discipline and a number of years of experience working in industry within assay development, analytical, QC or similar field.

2. Proven industry experience in assay development and working with cell based assays is essential to your application as well as GMP experience.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with data analysis and shown capability to present new ideas and propose new methods is essential.
