Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global leader in the biotechnology sector as an Associate Director, Facilities & Engineering at their dynamic UK facility in Kent. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone to demonstrate their engineering expertise with an innovative biologics CDMO business.

As the Associate Director, Facilities & Engineering, you will spearhead the Engineering & Maintenance Team, orchestrating the development and upkeep of facilities, machinery, and utilities to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory adherence, thus propelling the business forward.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Associate Director, Facilities & Engineering will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Lead the Engineering & Maintenance Team to enhance processes and safety measures.

2. Oversee maintenance strategies, including the integration of maintenance management systems, aligning with regulatory standards.

3. Administer engineering and maintenance budgets, alongside managing the sites capital budget and significant capital project delivery.

4. Innovate to boost efficiency and minimize downtime, while fostering relationships with suppliers and service providers for cutting-edge technologies and services.

5. Ensure engineering and maintenance activities comply with HS&E and quality systems, and support EMS activities in accordance with ISO14001.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this pivotal role as the Associate Director, Facilities & Engineering, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. An Engineering Degree in a electrical, instrument, mechanical discipline or similar. Chartered Engineer status would be preferred, but is not essential.

2. Proven experience in leading Facility, Engineering, and/or Maintenance within a biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with engineering change control and cGMP principles

4. Demonstrated ability in managing budgets and supervisory experience, including contractor management.
