Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist to join a leading cancer genomics company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist you will be operating right at the forefront of cancer diagnostics, and you will be responsible for providing cutting-edge analysis of NGS data, writing and modifying scripts to produce custom plots, and help make a noticeable difference in transforming how cancer is both detected and treated.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will provide expert bioinformatics analysis on data gathered through clinical trials in order to enhance the effectiveness of cancer detection.

2. You will use your bioinformatics coding experience to contribute heavily to the creation and modification of databases, as well as to use data visualisation libraries to communicate effectively to the rest of your department and the Clinical Team.

3. You will work closely with the Clinical Team to make sure analysis of samples is delivered on time.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Clinical Bioinformatics Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. PhD or MSc in bioinformatics or a related field.

2. A working knowledge and practical experience with R or Python to both program and visualise data, have demonstrable experience with NGS and prior experience of working in a UNIX environment.
