Data Engineer

We are currently looking for a Data Engineer to join a leading Life Science Procurement company based in the Glasgow area. As the Data Engineer you will be responsible for laying the foundations of a new data platform and setting the standard for data engineering best-practice for the business.

1. Hands-on design and development of data processing pipelines to support ingestion, enrichment and quality control of client and partner data.

2. Coaching, mentoring and up-skilling team members on the hands-on data engineering to build their technical skills and knowledge of the platform.

3. Identify, design and implement internal process improvements; automating manual processes and optimising data delivery.

4. Work with technical stakeholders to assist with data engineering-relating technical issues and support their data needs.

1. Proven hands-on experience working with modern data engineering technologies, techniques and architectures to implement and maintain modern, robust and performant data pipelines.

2. Proven hands-on experience delivering and maintaining enterprise-grade data pipelines utilising technologies such as Apache Nifi, Azure Data Factory, Pentaho Data Integrator, etc.

3. Hands-on experience with a variety of databases, such as SQL Server and MongoDB, ideally hosted in a cloud environment.
