Role Overview

Are you an experienced Health & Safety Specialist / Manager looking for a new exciting job opportunity?

We are currently looking for an EHS Specialist to join a leading pharmaceutical company based in the Ayrshire area.

As the EHS Specialist you will be responsible for leading the site's environmental programme, and assisting in the implementation of the site Environmental, Health, Safety and Security strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the EHS Specialist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will be responsible for carrying out hazard assessments for new products and raw materials as well as maintaining and reviewing site risk assessments and managing the EHS review of new products and raw materials.

2. You will also be responsible for monitoring the completion of corrective actions for EHSS improvements, identifying EHSS training needs for the site and managing the site EHS budget.

3. As the EHS Specialist, you will be auditing other UK sites to ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001 whilst also ensuring compliance with ReaCH regulation and DGSA legislation.

4. As well as working with internal site staff, you will also be working closely with EHS representatives from the other UK sites, and with local authorities about products safety.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the EHS Specialist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a Degree or Equivalent in Biological or Chemical Science or Engineering as well as a Diploma (or equivalent) in safety management.

2. Proven industry experience in driving EHS improvements and experience of working in a manufacturing environment where hazardous substances are used is essential. A background in chemical production and pharmaceutical industry would be ideal.

3. It is also essential you have product safety experience in raw materials for this position.
