Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Fermentation Operator to join a leading company based in the Worcestershire area. As the Fermentation Operator you will be responsible for operating the fermenters for lactic acid bacteria production.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Fermentation Operator will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will carrying out production scale fermentations of bacteria.

2. It will be your responsibility to prepare the media, operate the freeze dryers, steam boilers, dosing pumps, cooling towers, air scrubbers and more ancillary equipment.

3. As the Fermentation Operator, you will work to ISO 9001 and Health & Safety standards, ensuring the equipment and process areas are clean and safe at all times.

4. You will carry out general housekeeping duties and be expected to work with minimal supervision throughout your role.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Fermentation Operator we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. A degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, etc.) and/or industrial experience in a process industry such as brewing, food or chemical process, is necessary for your application.

2. A working knowledge and practical experience with fermentation processes is required, with an understanding of the need for cleanliness and vessel integrity.
