Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Global Product Manager with a focus on instrumentation systems and software, to join a leading diagnostics business based in Birmingham. As Global Product Manager you will 'own' the Global Product Management of Analysers and Software products and therefore must have experience within diagnostic systems as-well as strong commercial acumen.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as Global Product Management will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Product lifecycle management including monitoring customer feedback, competitor activity, new customer needs and sales support materials, product changes through to product discontinuation

2. Develop and implement product development plans in collaboration with Commercial Marketing team and regional teams, monitor and coordinate the implementation of activities according to plan

3. Actively support sales in order to achieve budget for Systems products i.e. Analysers and Software products

4. Manage product launches including preparation for market, product and commercial readiness

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this opportunity we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Scientific degree, PhD or equivalent and/or Marketing or Business degree or MBA

2. Proven experience to including significant experience in product management/marketing within the diagnostic/life science industry, preferably coupled with sales experience

4. Previous experience of commercializing and launching instruments and software for diagnostic use

5. Experience of marketing to compete with laboratory automation from large international companies

6. Numerical skills for manipulation of market and sales data, profitability calculations and development of business cases
