We are currently looking for a IT Support Engineer to join a leading company based in the Oxfordshire area. As the IT Support Engineer you will be responsible for bringing the IT support expertise in-house and play an integral role in establishing the IT function.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide support from desktop level to 2nd/3rd line whilst communicating technical support information to stakeholders and senior managers. 2. Establish the Helpdesk function and support clients on installations, MS Systems, general IT issues and tickets. This will also include troubleshooting problems relating to local technology including LAN / WAN, PC's and Servers 3. Systems installations and configuration, monitoring, patching office and laboratory machines mainly on MS OS PCs. As well as, provide support with telephone systems including landlines and mobile phones. This will include installation, replacements, VC's and meeting room setup support. 4. Create documentation on progress, fixes, upgrades, and any related IT information for wider colleagues and knowledge transfer. You will be required to document the application support activities thoroughly in an accurate and timely manner.
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the IT Support Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Experience in providing 2nd/3rd line support whilst working within a GMP environment 2. Must have experience within a Pharmaceutical or Biotech related industry 3. Competent with MS Windows client: XP/7/10, MS Windows servers: 2003/2008/2012 & MS Office: 2010/2013 4. Experience in VMware: v5/v6 and Networking
