Location: Oxfordshire

HRS are working with a world leading pharmaceutical business who’s innovative technologies have consistently aided in the development of life changing drugs products across multiple therapeutic areas. Operating globally, they are currently seeking to hire a software developer to join their team based in Oxfordshire and support the ongoing maintenance & development of JAVA based applications used by the Informatics & scientific teams.
This will be an ideal opportunity for a scientific graduate with coding experience with Java to join a globally recognised leader in the field which can offer ongoing professional development.

This will be a hybrid position based in Oxfordshire. While remote working is a possibility there will be a requirement for frequent day’s onsite.

Key duties and responsibilities:
As a Full Stack Java Developer you will take responsibility for the maintenance & development of java based applications and software used by research groups. Key duties will include:
1. Providing support for the development and maintenance of scientific information systems; incident and operational issue solving, definition and implementation of change control etc.
2. Working closely with the research / scientific teams to consult / advise on application use. Producing user documentation and assisting with training / technical support.
3. Consult with end-users to understand requirements and produce practical system designs in line with feedback.
4. Ensure data quality, security and confidentiality.

Role requirements:
1. A Degree or higher qualification in Bio-informatics, Computer science, Mathematics, Physics or other relevant field.
2. Proven experience of programming Java / JavaScript based web applications
3. A working knowledge / practical experience with databases (Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL) & back-end web services technologies (REST).
