Role Overview

Are you an experienced Optical Engineer looking for a new exciting job opportunity?

We are currently looking for an Optical Engineer to join an expanding technology company based in the Fife area.

As the Optical Engineer you will be responsible for taking the company's printing technology to the next level with your experience in opto-mechanical systems and laser beams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Optical Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will be primarily responsible for developing the company's optical printing technology for HOEs and be involved in the optical (and mechanical when required) design of improved optical heads.

2. You will also be involved in the practical implementation, verification and debug in the optical laboratories.

3. Lastly, as the optical engineer, you will be developing control methodology and systems for use within the company by your colleagues.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Optical Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree (BSc, MSc or ideally PhD) in Optics or Photonics and experience as an optical engineer is ideal but not essential.

2. If no industrial experience, post-doctoral experience in Optics / Photonics with a desire to move into industrial applications would also be suitable.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience in software, mechanical design, electrical design, control systems, prototyping and product development are viewed favourably.
