Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Principal Omics & Bioinformatics Scientist to join a leading Biotechnology company based in the Berkshire area. As the Principal Omics & Bioinformatics Scientist you will be responsible for supporting cutting edge studies within the Biologics department.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Providing oversight and executing scientific activities with elements of study design and
implementation, laboratory work, scientific review, coaching of junior scientists, project
management, professional mentoring, technology scouting.

2. Generating multi-omics datasets using various mass spectrometry-based approaches and
dissecting the complexity of the available data to provide biological interpretation advancing
knowledge and leading improvements in biomanufacturing process.

3. Developing and leading innovative proteomics, metabolomics and multi-omics approaches to
drive breakthrough applications.

4. Providing scientific leadership and direction within the team and leading strong collaboration
efforts across the Bio R&D department to maximize synergies and impact.

Role Requirements

1. PhD Degree in Life Sciences / Science or equivalent; Preferred area of study: Biochemistry

2. Academic experience in an analytical laboratory, with a focus on Mass
Spectrometry, Proteomics and Metabolomics.

3. Detailed knowledge and practical application of mass spectrometry and bioinformatics
applied to Proteomics, Metabolomics and other (multi)omics studies.
