Role Overview
We are currently looking for a QC Scientist to join a leading Life Science company based in the Manchester area. As the QC Scientist you will be responsible for running and developing the businesses downstream quality control for biosurfactants produced in their pilot plant and fermentations at laboratory scale and pilot plant (450 litres) and performing downstream processing and quality control analytics as well as operating downstream processing techniques to enhance the performance of biosurfactant products.Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the QC Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. As the QC Scientist you will work on a range of analytical methods for the analysis of biosurfactants.
2. You will work on purification methods, as well as techniques for chemical analysis.
3. As the QC Scientist you will work with the process development and production teams and supply chain function for raw material supply to ensure that the whole process provides products with suitable properties for a range of applications and industries.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the QC Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Relevant degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
2. Proven industry experience in analytical chemistry using techniques such as HPLC, MS, GC, FTIR and wet chemistry.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience of downstream separation processes at laboratory scale and ideally at pilot or industrial scale.
