Role Overview

We are currently looking for a QC Specialist to join a leading Pharmaceutical company based in the Surrey area. As the QC Specialist you will be responsible for the organisation and supervision of a team within a QC restricted department. You will also support the quality control department in the testing and release of Foot and Mouth Disease vaccine and antigen batches. You will also perform all routine testing related to finished product and active ingredients as well as environmental testing on a GMP manufacturing site.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the QC Specialist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Responsible for organisation of direct reports, staff development and overseeing training.

2. All aspects of in process and final product testing where results are used to support release of batches to required specifications.

3. Lead QC QMS processes: OOS, deviations, change controls and CAPAs. Writing and updating relevant SOPs and material specifications.

4. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to generate data to support technical communications to customers.

5. Carry out all duties fully respecting GMP, Biosecurity and HSE standards.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the QC Specialist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. A minimum of Science related A levels or equivalent. A relevant degree in a Chemistry or a Life Science subject is preferable but not essential.

2. Proven industry experience in a GMP laboratory environment.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with writing Out of Spec or Out of Trend reports.

4. Experience working in a restricted area (including a shower out process) is prefferable but not essential.
