Role Overview
We are currently looking for a Scientist - Research Associate to join a leading gene manufacturing company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Scientist - Research Associate you will be responsible for developing and optimising vectors for gene therapy, specifically AAV.Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your duties as the Scientist - Research Associate will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:You will need to be able to understand and improve AAV production mechanistically. This means you will need carry out AAV production and purification systems to produce research-grade AAV.
You will be able to use analytical techniques on vector preparations. This would include flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, protein gels, and more. You would also have to ensure the validity and the reliability of data and maintain accurate records. You would also have to undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities that reasonably fall within the role holders skills and experience as requested.
Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Scientist - Research Associate we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Relevant MSc or above in the life sciences sector
2. Proven industry experience in AAV production
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with AAV production and purification, alongside other molecular biology techniques.
