We are currently looking for a Senior Account Manager to join a leading Biotechnology company based in the Hertfordshire area. As the Senior Account Manager, your role will involve inside sales, new business development and also frequent travel to meet with clients that are interested in your product.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Senior Account Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
You will be confident in business development & sales which will involve creating and reporting a pipeline of new business opportunities and sales. This includes attending networking & conference events to identify customers and opportunities.
You will drive sales to deliver revenue growth and exceed targets. This includes developing customer/product forecasts to shape business plans and contract negotiation.
As the Senior Account Manager you will also be responsible for the mentorship of a Junior account manager, teaching them the fundamentals of sales and leading by example.
You will provide accurate and timely sales reports/forecasts. Provide market and competitor intelligence & analysis.
To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Account Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a life science subject (Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Genetics, Oncology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics etc.) and an interest in advanced cell culture.
2. Proven industry experience and understanding of either account management, inside sales or new business development, ideally gained within pharma or biotech sectors with an emphasis on laboratory equipment sales.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with standard laboratory procedures along with a general industry awareness of devices and consumables used in the biotechnology industry.
