Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist to join a leading biotechnology company based in the Oxfordshire area.

The Senior Procurement Specialist will report to the Purchasing Director, and the role will manage the execution of Procurement services across the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Senior Procurement Specialist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Provide purchasing support to all departments i.e R & D, Manufacturing, validation, finance, engineering.

2. Lead negotiations with suppliers to ensure best commercial terms.

3. Identify and recommend new suppliers to the business that offer technical advantage.

4. Align with company process and procedures.

5. Ability to review detailed cost and challenge it.

6. Manage vendor portfolio and vendor creation.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Senior Procurement Specialist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Degree or Masters in a relevant technical discipline, and CIPS qualification (minimum level 4).

2. You will have strong demonstrated purchasing experience, ideally this will have been gained within the pharmaceutical sector with sound knowledge and understanding of GMP and R & D functions.

3. Experience using IFS / SAP systems and demonstrated negotiation skills.
