Team Leader - Downstream Process Development

This is Team Leader role within Downstream Process Development for a cutting edge Biotherapeutics company focused on developing novel Viral Vector based therapies.

You will lead a team of 3 Downstream R&D Scientist focused on developing purification and filtration processes for Viral Vectors.

Key Duties Include:

- Line management of a small team of hands-on Scientist
- You will also be hands on with experiments, with half of your time focused on designing projects and workflows as well as writing high quality protocols and reports.
- Develop, optimize and characterize purification processes for viral vector platforms.
- Develop, optimise and characterise filtration processes including depth filtration filters and tangential flow filtration.

Essential requirements and experience:

- Degree in a Life Sciences discipline
- Extensive hands on experience in an industry setting where you have developed Downstream Processes for Biotherapeutics, ideally Viral Vectors
- Hands on experience with AKTA, Depth Filtration, TFF and other chromatography techniques.
- Previous experience of line management or evidence of supporting junior staff members.
