Role Overview

Are you an experienced Technical Service Manager or Senior Engineer with line management experience looking to join a progressive company?

We are currently looking for a Technical Service Engineering Manager to join a global life sciences business.

As the Technical Service Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of electro-mechanical field service engineers, ensuring KPI's and service needs of customers are met. You will also operate on a strategical level, working closely with other Technical Service Managers on improving strategies across the business.

The role will be covering the North UK (Scotland and the North East of England), so you will ideally be based in Newcastle or between Glasgow / Edinburgh.

The right candidate must have prior experience in a Medical Device / Diagnostics Background.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Technical Service Engineering Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

Manage and lead a team of Electro-Mechanical field based service engineers servicing clients proactive and reactive service needs are met on complex medical devices ranging from medium to large capital equipment.

Ensure and oversee the delivery, installation, maintenance, repair and modification of a variety of customer’s medical devices and ensure service is delivered as agreed. Customers will be based across the NHS, Universities and the private sector.

Monitor all KPI’s for your team and act appropriately when you identify areas that can be improved. Also pro-actively look at new strategies for your team as well as working with other managers on wider strategies for the business.

Keep and build positive relationships with key teams across the business. Also ensure you manage the resources available to your team effectively and efficiently.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Technical Service Engineering Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in an Engineering discipline – Preferably Electrical/Electronic

2. Proven industry experience as a Field Service Manager/Team Leader in a Medical Device, Diagnostics, Life Science Instrumentation or other relevant Service Engineering industry.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with leading Electro-Mechanical engineering teams in a field based customer facing position.
