Role Overview

Are you an experienced service engineer, scientist or cell biologist looking for a new job opportunity?

We are currently looking for a Technical Service Support Engineer to join a leading Life Sciences company based in the Paisley area.

As the Technical Service Engineer you will have first-line contact with customers to troubleshoot runs, instrument hardware, software and computer-related problems over the phone, via email and using remote support tools focusing on cell analysis platforms such as Cell Sorting (Bigfoot system) or Flow Cytometry.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Technical Service Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Triage function between Technical Service and Application Support by qualifying requests and addressing customer’s needs in resolving their inquiries. You will also contribute to achieve specific Global Service & Support (GSS) related targets as defined for revenues, profit, service order volume, etc. - while complying with internal rules and practices.

2. As the technical service engineer, you will also work closely with support and field service engineers to prioritise all activities. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing service requests and have administrative responsibilities.

3. Willingness to assist customers, both external and internal, and follow issues all the way to resolution with a positive attitude.

4. Customer relationship management, written documentation of service activities, and effective interaction and communication with internal personnel, manufacturing, and sales.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Technical Service Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. A relevant BEng or higher in a Science or Engineering field is essential. Experience in a life sciences role or working with biomedical engineering equipment is also required.

2. Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve problems on electronic and mechanical instrumentation in a scientific laboratory environment, with a focus on remote resolution. Practical experience with either flow cytometry and/or cell sorting is essential for this position.

3. A second European language such as German would be very beneficial for the role.
