We are currently looking for an AI Research Scientist III to join a pioneering biotech company that specializes in AI-driven drug discovery, based in a location that supports innovation and scientific advancement. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the AI Research Scientist III will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
• Propose and prototype AI and machine learning solutions that address use cases within the company’s drug design pipeline.
• Independently apply productized AI/ML models to advance active drug discovery campaigns.
• Write and publish peer-reviewed scientific articles and mentor junior AI researchers to foster growth and knowledge sharing.
• Periodically present recent AI research findings at internal journal clubs to facilitate cross-team learning.
• Work cross-functionally with scientific colleagues, providing expertise on how AI and machine learning can be applied to cheminformatics and bioinformatics questions.
• As the AI Research Scientist III, you will manage junior staff including conducting weekly 1:1s and performance reviews.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the AI Research Scientist III we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
• A Degree or higher level in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry).
• Proven industry experience of 3+ years in AI, drug discovery, or related fields with demonstrated success in applying machine learning techniques.
• Strong understanding of statistics and classical machine learning methods (e.g., SVM, RF), with experience deploying advanced deep learning models (Transformers, Graph Neural Networks).
• Experience with wet lab validation of AI-driven drug discovery initiatives.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable Python code with examples available in code repositories.
• Familiarity with MLOps, DevOps, and distributed computing environments such as Microsoft Azure or HPC clusters.
