Analytical Chemist

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for a Laboratory Analyst to join a leading pharmaceutical development and support team based in a scientific environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to quality control processes within a reputable organization committed to excellence. The role offers an initial fixed-term contract for two years, providing valuable experience in analytical testing and stability data analysis.

In this position, you will be pivotal in ensuring the quality and integrity of raw materials, bulk, and finished products. Working closely with a talented team, you will operate various analytical instruments, interpret data, and maintain laboratory standards in line with GMP requirements.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Laboratory Analyst will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
   • Conduct quality control and stability testing of raw materials, bulk, and finished products using HPLC, GC, and wet chemical techniques.
   • Analyze products to generate stability data for new product development and ongoing stability monitoring of commercial products.
   • Perform manual and automated tests in strict accordance with GMP standards, ensuring accuracy and precision, and operate associated analytical equipment.
   • Collect, process, and report data accurately, utilizing software such as chromatography data systems (Chromeleon), LIMS, Excel, and Word.
   • Contribute to laboratory operations including equipment calibration, maintenance, and general duties like solvent disposal.
   • As the Laboratory Analyst, you will maintain high standards of safety, organization, and compliance within the laboratory environment.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Laboratory Analyst we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
   • A degree (or equivalent) in a chemistry-based discipline.
   • Proven experience in an analytical testing role, preferably within a GMP environment.
   • Some experience with HPLC and GC analysis techniques.
   • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, with additional experience in chromatography data handling software and LIMS being advantageous.
   • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
