

ROLE OVERVIEW
Our client, a leading pharmaceutical company based in the Kent area, is seeking an Analytical Scientist to join their Materials Characterisation Team within the Analytical Technology Function. As an Analytical Scientist, you will support the application of analytical methods to understand the chemical properties of a broad range of pharmaceutical materials.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Analytical Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Determination of chemical profiles (both organic and elemental) of APIs, excipients, drug products, and packaging materials to understand composition and impurities, including the development of appropriate sample preparation methods.
2. Measurement of drug product dissolution using USP apparatus <1> and <2> with fibre-optic, UV, and/or HPLC quantitation.
3. Measurement of drug product elemental impurities by ICP-MS in accordance with ICHQ3D.
4. Execution of accelerated drug product stability studies, including trending of assay, impurities, and dissolution.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Analytical Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a scientific field.
2. Proven industry experience in practical analytical laboratory work, including quantitative analysis.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with HPLC, dissolution, and ICP-MS/ICP-OES.
