

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for an Asset Environmental Performance Engineer to join a leading organization that operates within the pharmaceutical and research sectors. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to contribute to environmental sustainability by assessing and improving the environmental performance of critical physical assets, including HVAC systems, utilities, and buildings. The role is based within a dynamic team committed to reducing environmental impacts across the asset lifecycle, supporting both operational excellence and compliance with pharmaceutical standards.
This position provides a unique opportunity for a proactive professional to drive innovation and sustainability initiatives at a prominent site, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to implement impactful solutions that align with regulatory and environmental standards.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Asset Environmental Performance Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
• Assess the environmental performance and potential improvement of critical assets such as HVAC systems, utilities, and buildings through data analysis, technical documentation review, operational discussions, and site visits.
• Identify and evaluate opportunities for carbon, energy, and water savings to support sustainability and cost-efficiency goals.
• Provide technical support to project teams during engineering projects aimed at reducing environmental impacts, from design to execution.
• Support operational teams responsible for maintaining critical assets to ensure practices align with sustainability objectives and regulatory standards.
• Participate in technology watch activities, propose innovative technical solutions, and promote best practices for environmental reduction initiatives.
• As the Asset Environmental Performance Engineer, you will help to develop strategies that enhance environmental best practices across site assets and improve overall sustainability performance.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Asset Environmental Performance Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
• A Degree or higher level in engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering).
• Proven experience in identifying and implementing solutions to reduce energy and water consumption in an industrial or pharmaceutical environment.
• A good understanding of energy and water flows within HVAC systems, utilities, and building management systems, complemented by knowledge of environmental certifications such as BREEAM and LEED.
