We are currently looking for an Associate Scientist to join a leading leading pharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area. As the Associate Scientist, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting microbial processes at lab and pilot scales, ensuring scalability and quality.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Associate Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. As the Associate Scientist, you will perform microbial process optimisation and development experiments from 250 mL to 200 L scale.
2. As the Associate Scientist, you will work both independently and collaboratively to achieve team objectives.
3. As the Associate Scientist, you will document your work, including designing experiments, writing protocols, and updating procedures.
4. As the Associate Scientist, you will analyse experimental data and present results to your manager, team, and internal stakeholders.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Associate Scientist - Microbial Expression Sciences (MES) we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Proven industry experience in operating lab and pilot-scale microbial processes, including various bioreactor/fermenter systems and relevant control software.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with E. coli physiology and laboratory techniques.
