Business Development Associate

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for a Business Development Associate to join a leading pharmaceutical company based in the Sussex area. As the Business Development Associate, you will be responsible for supporting the Business Development Manager and the wider commercial team in building a strong pipeline of opportunities for our client. This role is focused on lead generation, research, prospect engagement, and sales support, with the goal of developing into a client-facing business development professional over time.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Business Development Associate will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Conduct desk research to identify new potential clients in target markets (UK, EU, North America).

2. Maintain Salesforce with accurate and up-to-date prospect, lead, and opportunity data.

3. Coordinate distribution of targeted marketing materials and collateral to prospects.

4. Join initial discovery calls where appropriate to take notes and ensure follow-up actions are tracked.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Business Development Associate we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a science, business, or related discipline (preferred but not essential).

2. Proven industry experience in sales, lead generation, or a commercial support role.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with CRM systems (ideally Salesforce).
