Business Development Manager

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join a leading organisation in the Life Sciences sector.

This is a great fit for a driven individual with proven sales experience in contract research services, ideally supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. Experience in Histology and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is beneficial, though full training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for achieving sales targets and expanding the company’s presence across the pharma, biotech, and CRO markets. This includes identifying new business opportunities and developing long-term client relationships.

Your role will involve engaging with clients to understand their technical requirements, preparing accurate project proposals, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience.

You’ll maintain precise and up-to-date client records within the CRM system, supporting visibility and alignment across teams. You’ll also monitor market trends and uncover new areas for commercial growth.

You’ll represent the company at conferences, exhibitions, and networking events in the UK, Europe, and USA, building relationships, conducting client visits, and promoting the organisation’s expertise.

Requirements
  • Degree in Life Sciences (PhD preferred).
  • Proven sales experience in Histology, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), In Situ Hybridisation, or Digital Image Analysis is preferred 
  • Experience in the biosciences or CRO sector, with knowledge of GLP, GCP, and ISO 9001:2015.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
