

Overview
We’re seeking an accomplished Analytical Operations Director to lead and develop the analytical function within a Global Pharmaceutical CDMO. This is a senior leadership position, responsible for ensuring scientific excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational performance across a high-growth business unit. The role requires a strategic mindset, hands-on leadership, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• As Analytical Operations Director, you’ll set and deliver performance targets that underpin site profitability and scientific quality. You’ll ensure that analytical services operate safely and compliantly, meeting all regulatory and licensing requirements while maintaining a strong focus on delivery standards and customer satisfaction.
• You’ll lead a high-performing team, providing direction, coaching, and support to enable success at all levels. Collaboration will be key, you’ll foster strong partnerships across global analytical teams, encouraging a “one team” culture that drives knowledge sharing and consistency across sites.
• A critical part of your remit will be shaping the long-term strategy for analytical operations. You’ll identify opportunities to optimise capacity, resources, and technology investment in line with business growth, while embedding a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Externally, you’ll represent the organisation as a senior technical leader, building strong relationships with clients and strategic partners. Your leadership will reinforce the company’s reputation for scientific quality, reliability, and innovation in analytical services.
Essential Requirements
• Degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related scientific field.
• Extensive leadership experience within analytical or laboratory operations, ideally within a pharmaceutical CDMO environment.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Track record of driving performance improvement and operational excellence.
• Strong communicator with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire teams.
