

ROLE OVERVIEW
An exciting opportunity for an LC-MS Specialist to join a leading biopharmaceutical company focused on innovative drug discovery within the fields of Oncology and Neurological Disorders. This is a pivotal role within the chemistry department, where you will contribute to cutting-edge fragment-based drug discovery projects working alongside multidisciplinary teams. The position offers an engaging environment for scientists passionate about analytical chemistry and drug development, seeking to make a meaningful impact in medicine.
Based at our client’s state-of-the-art facility, this role provides a unique chance to develop and refine your expertise in chromatography and ADME studies, supporting the journey from early-stage research to potential new medicines.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the LC-MS Specialist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Manage and operate a suite of open access LC-MS systems to support project needs.
- Purify and analyze chiral and achiral compounds, ensuring high-quality data generation.
- Run physchem assays and potentially undertake in vitro ADME studies to support drug discovery programs.
- Provide accurate, high-quality analytical data to inform chemical series understanding and answer key scientific questions.
- As the LC-MS Specialist you will promote cross-disciplinary collaboration and maintain the safe running of laboratory activities.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the LC-MS Specialist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in a relevant subject (e.g., Pharmaceutical Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry).
- Proven practical experience working with LC-MS systems, including providing physchem data and separating chiral compounds.
- Strong teamworking and communication skills, with a passion for developing new medicines.
