Back to Job SearchWe are recruiting an Microbial Fermentation Scientist to join a leading biotechnology company based in the Berkshire area. As the Microbial Fermentation Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting microbial processes at both lab and pilot scales, ensuring scalability and quality.
This is an initial 12 month contract with likely extension.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Microbial Fermentation Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. As the Microbial Fermentation Scientist, you will perform microbial process optimisation and development experiments from 250 mL to 200 L scale (Fermentations are mainly 250ml bench top).
2. As the Microbial Fermentation Scientist, you will have a good knowledge of E.coli physiology.
3. As the Microbial Fermentation Scientist, you will document your work, including designing experiments, writing protocols, and updating procedures.
4. As the Microbial Fermentation Scientist, you will analyse experimental data and present results to your manager, team, and internal stakeholders.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Microbial Fermentation Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. Proven industry experience in operating lab and pilot-scale microbial processes, including various bioreactor/fermenter systems and relevant control software.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with E. coli physiology and laboratory techniques.
