

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for an Operational Buyer to join a leading pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing organization based in Verviers. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented procurement professional to contribute to the supply chain efficiency of a global industry leader.
This role offers a hybrid working model, requiring three days onsite per week, with a fixed-term contract initially set for six months. Reporting directly to the Bioscience Global Business Process Owner – Procurement, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring timely procurement and supply continuity for the site.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Operational Buyer – Direct (Level I) will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Manage procurement of quality-relevant indirect materials for the Verviers site, ensuring timely conversion of requisitions into purchase orders based on SAP MRP signals.
- Support vendor quotation requests and escalate critical supply risks to prevent operational disruptions.
- Maintain accurate procurement master data in SAP, including material master data, purchasing info records, and source lists to facilitate reliable MRP calculations and efficient PO creation.
- Support supplier qualification processes, manage documentation, and assist in onboarding new suppliers and raw materials, ensuring compliance with internal standards.
- As the Operational Buyer, you will support the batch release process by gathering necessary documentation and coordinating with Quality and Accounts Payable to resolve queries and invoice discrepancies.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Operational Buyer – Direct (Level I), we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in a relevant field (e.g., Administrative Studies, Supply Chain, or similar).
- Proven SAP ERP experience, preferably with procurement and quality modules, alongside data analysis skills.
- Fluency in French and business proficiency in English, with excellent timeline and priority management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, an agile mindset, and a collaborative approach to stakeholder management.
