

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for a Cyber Security Specialist to join a leading organisation specialising in information security based remotely with occasional travel to Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional to contribute to an organisation dedicated to embracing AI and strengthening cyber resilience.
An integral part of our client’s IT team, this role offers the chance to work on advanced penetration testing projects across applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Oracle, supporting global operations. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Cyber Security Specialist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Conduct and lead penetration testing exercises across various platforms including applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments, providing expert insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the wider IT team to enhance security protocols, ensure compliance, and implement best practices.
- Contribute to the organisation’s strategic approach to cybersecurity, including embracing emerging AI technologies.
- Maintain and demonstrate strong technical skills, staying current with industry developments and threats.
- As the Cyber Security Specialist, you will provide technical leadership and act as a point of contact for security-related projects and initiatives.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Cyber Security Specialist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in a relevant field (e.g., Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science).
- Proven experience in penetration testing, ethical hacking, or related roles, ideally with hands-on technical expertise across multiple platforms and environments.
- Certifications such as CREST Certified Tester (CCT), Cyber Scheme Team Leader (CSTL), or similar recognised credentials.
- Strong technical skills in information security, with practical knowledge of Azure, AWS, Oracle, and other cloud platforms.
- Ethical Hacking SC clearance and flexibility to travel and attend onsite meetings in Birmingham when required.
