

We are recruiting a Senior Scientist / Research Scientist to join a leading Pharmaceutical company in the Berkshire area. As the Senior Scientist / Research Scientist you will play a crucial role in the discovery of novel therapeutic entities for patients with skeletal biology conditions.
This is an initial 12 month contract with likely extension.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Senior Scientist / Research Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. As the Senior Scientist / Research Scientist you will run in vitro translational assays to read out on phenotypic outcomes that reflect the biology and mechanism of the target.
2. As the Senior Scientist / Research Scientist you will develop complex cell models utilising skeletal-relevant cells such as osteoblasts, fibroblast-like synoviocytes, and chondrocytes.
3. As the Senior Scientist / Research Scientist you will explore target/molecule pathways and mechanisms of action using molecular in vitro and computational techniques. You will use techniques such as multicolour flow cytometry and bioinformatics approaches.
4. As the Senior Scientist / Research Scientist you will collaborate within project teams to progress therapeutic programs and maintain accurate experimental records in electronic lab notebooks.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Senior Scientist / Research Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Either a fresh PhD candidate in a subject relating to Skeletal Biology, an Immunologist with industry experience or Skeletal Biologist with industry experience.
2. Proven industry experience in primary human cell isolation and culture.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with complex cell-based assays, flow cytometry, and computational biology approaches applied to transcriptomics, cytometry, or proteomics.
