Back to Job SearchWe are currently looking for a Target Validation Scientist or Senior Scientist to join a leading life sciences company based in the Berkshire area. As the Target Validation Scientist or Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for contributing to the discovery, validation, and mechanism of action of novel drug targets for diseases with high unmet patient needs.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Target Validation Scientist or Senior Scientist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Investigate immunological disease pathways and biology to generate novel insights into potential therapeutic opportunities.
2. Establish and manage collaborations with leading researchers on auto-immune relevant biological pathways and disease models to identify new disease-drug target links.
3. Perform drug tractability and validation experiments, including high content imaging, Gain of Function/Loss of Function assays, cell culture, flow cytometry, imaging, and other techniques.
4. Contribute to the development of the department’s technological and scientific capabilities, enhancing target-to-disease translational insights, implementing novel technologies, and improving workflows.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Target Validation Scientist or Senior Scientist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in immunology or related fields.
2. Proven industry experience in running complex in-vitro assays.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with a range of cellular and molecular biology techniques, high content imaging experience essential. Others such as complex cell culture, flow cytometry, IHC, ELISA or MSD, Western blotting, qPCR, transfection/siRNA/CRISPR gene-editing are preferable.
