Ricky Martin
Ricky Martin Managing Director Connect with me on Linkedin
Ricky graduated as a Biochemist from Cardiff University in 2006 which subsequently fuelled his passion for a career in the Life Science sector. He spent over a decade recruiting exclusively for the sciences before setting up Hyper Recruitment Solutions (in 2012) with the mission to help people and improve lives through healthcare and / or new technologies.

He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Vice Chair of the UK Life Sciences committee for the REC, sharing best practice and helping to raise the standards in the industry.

 Interesting fact: Prior to setting up HRS I had been the UK Heavyweight and UK Tag Team Champion for professional wrestling and received an offer to try out for the big leagues in the US for WWE. Following my success in wrestling I was approached to take part in BBC1’s action game show, Total Wipeout which I went on to win in 2009.

Eve specialises in life sciences recruitment at HRS. She moved into recruitment after spending six years working within the Life Sciences industry so has a sound knowledge and understanding of the sector and its requirements.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I really enjoy working at HRS. I feel the business’ key values match my own when it comes to placing the right scientists into the right jobs having been a job seeker in the life sciences industry previously.

Andrew Davis

Andy is the Associate Director at HRS and specialises in leadership hiring. During his career he has worked with clients in the United Kingdom, United States, Switzerland and South East Asia.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I enjoy working for HRS because of the fantastic, down-to-earth people and the personalised, specialist service we offer clients.

 Interesting fact: I am a 3 handicap at golf.
Sandy Chander

Sandy has over 15 years’ experience of working within the Education sector in a variety of roles including teaching. With a passion for creativity and helping people, these combined interests drew her to the role of marketing and communications at HRS. Her other responsibilities include, developing and managing the Apprenticeship scheme, developing HRS’ Corporate Social Responsibility, working closely with HRS’ designated charities to organise internal and external fundraising events for the team.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
HRS’ values are very much aligned to my own. Working for a company that is passionate about making a difference and helping people in the sectors it supports is fantastic and I am very proud to be a part of that. I am able to do things I love and enjoy in my job, so it doesn’t feel like work.

 Interesting fact: Injured in the line of duty - I fractured my foot whilst attending a recruitment awards ceremony.
Ben Hamlin

Ben has developed a vast amount of experience in the recruitment industry spanning almost a decade years since graduating from university in 2007. As a Recruitment Consultant he predominantly focusing on the Engineering and Manufacturing industries, within a variety of science and technology markets before joining HRS in 2013. Ben now plays an integral part within the HRS Senior Management team.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
HRS has a fantastic culture within the business and is full of passionate Recruitment Consultants who genuinely want to make a difference within the science and technology community. We all work hard to ensure we are delivering the best possible service to our clients and candidates.

 Interesting fact: During university, I was part of an expedition that travelled to the Karakoram Mountain range located in the Himalayas. I climbed a 6000 metre peak to study the effects of a hypobaric hypoxic environment on human performance.
Despina Kefala

Despina specialises in commercial recruitment within the Life Sciences and Biotechnology industries spanning across UK and Europe. The roles she recruits for include sales, marketing and technical specialists. With a BSc in Biological Sciences, Despina feels this is the perfect role to combine her interest in science whist enabling her to have interaction with others.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I really enjoy the diversity of my job; there are many new challenges that are thrown at you which make you quickly adapt and grow as a recruiter in order to overcome these. There is a great team and atmosphere in HRS which makes the role extremely enjoyable.

 Interesting fact: I have a strong interest in fertility. Before I joined HRS, I used to work in the lab as a trained Andrologist.
Gary Eldridge

Gary has developed a vast amount of experience within the contract recruitment market since 2008 and joined HRS to focus on growing the contracts division. Gary has worked across and set up a number of niche markets within the recruitment industry in the UK and internationally. He works closely with the Quality, Regulatory and Engineering teams to provide interim and contract solutions to our clients.

The honest approach the business has to recruitment.

Trishna Thakrar
Trishna Thakrar Head of IT
Trishna graduated with a Degree in Journalism and English. She spent five years working in recruitment supporting specialist areas within IT. She carved a genuine niche in the market and became highly reputable in within her network. She joined HRS to launch a specialist IT division within the company, HRS IT.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
HRS genuinely cares about service and offers the best standards in the recruitment industry.

 Interesting fact: I am a former semi-pro footballer and I can dislocate my hip bone.
William Blohm
William Blohm Technical Recruitment Manager
Will is the Technical Recruitment Manager at HRS. Having 10 years recruitment experience across the UK and Internationally. Will leads the Quality and Technical teams to provide specialist recruitment services to HRS’ candidates and clients.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
The work ethic on the floor is such a driver, it is clear each specialist consult cares about making sure their work is of the highest levels to provide an excellent service to both candidate and client.

 Interesting fact: I was an extra in Kevin and Perry Go Large.
Megan Rich

Megan has previously worked in numerous customer facing environments as a Barista, Student Ambassador and Shop Assistant whilst studying at the University of East Anglia, where she gained a degree in Business Management.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I love working at HRS because each day is different and provides endless challenges. The rewards are plentiful in terms of helping candidates better their careers and clients move their businesses forward. More importantly, I work in a great environment with fantastic people which furthers my enjoyment in such a fun and positive role.

 Interesting fact: I successfully completed Tough Mudder in May 2015. I also raised over £500 for numerous charities within a six month period.
Christopher Carey

Christopher spent a number of years in recruitment before joining the HRS team as a Senior Recruitment Consultant, therefore he knows the industry extremely well.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I enjoy working for HRS as I am able to utilise my experience to help people secure a new role whilst learning all about the different aspects of the science profession. What makes my job even more enjoyable is being surrounded by some amazing people that have a real passion in what we do.

Emma Noble

Emma has a wealth of recruitment experience having been in the industry for over 12 years and is a qualified member of the REC. She spent five years working in high street recruitment and has since managed contractor recruitment for several high profile clients.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
The thing I like best about working for HRS is the team I work with who continually keep me entertained.

 Interesting fact: I have completed a 50km charity walk six times.
Greg Hammond

Greg is a graduate with an MSc in Managing the Environment and a BSc in Biochemistry from Aberystwyth University. He joined HRS to utilise his knowledge within the Life Sciences industry, and to help people progress into their ideal career.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I enjoy working in a competitive environment and working with likeminded people who are like myself, passionate about science.

 Interesting fact: I achieved fifth place in the British Universities Creek Race in Scotland. I also play golf to a handicap of 5. I also shared a box at a Chelsea football game with Samuel L Jackson.
Hayley Dare
Hayley Dare Office Manager
Hayley is the Office Manager at HRS. Her role involves PA and HR support to the Management team and across the office. She previously worked in HR as Operations Support for six years, during this time she completed the HR Practice Level 3 Diploma. She is aiming to progress to the Level 5.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I like working with a dedicated team of professionals, who love the job they do. It’s encouraging to work in an environment like that and it makes you want to succeed and better yourself. The variety in my role keeps me busy and I find it interesting and engaging.

 Interesting fact: I have a permanent partially broken left thumb, (a lump of bone has broken away and is floating in the middle). It cannot be operated on as it is too close to a nerve!
Martin Lane

Martin graduated from The University of Southampton with a BA in Biochemistry. At HRS he deals with engineering roles across multiple industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and chemical.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I like working in recruitment as it gives me the opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives. As a recent graduate I understand how easy that is to be looked over.

 Interesting fact: I actively compete in local motorsport, including Endurance Night Rallying and Targa Rallying. Recently, I won Chelmsford Motor Club’s Navigator of the Year.
Gemma Everitt

Gemma specialises in technical recruitment for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. She recruits for the pharmacovigilance and regulatory affairs sectors. Gemma joined HRS after working as a scientist at Cancer Research Technology having completing her PhD at Barts Cancer Institute. She moved to recruitment to support the industry she has long been passionate for, by finding and recruiting talented people for exciting positions within the sector.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
The team here at HRS are incredibly supportive and fun to work with! I enjoy learning more about the science industry and developing myself within recruitment.

 Interesting fact: I have twice completed the London Moonwalk raising money for breast cancer research and I have achieved a Gold Level Award in Ballroom and Latin dancing.
Musa Kureshy

Musa is a graduate from UCL with an MSc in Drug Discovery and Pharma Management. He also has a BSc in Biomedical Sciences from The Royal Holloway University of London and has completed an internship at SporeGen, a biotech start up.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
HRS is a very upbeat recruitment environment with a focus on honesty and integrity and sciences which makes us unique in the industry.

 Interesting fact: I’m an avid motorsport and car fan and am rebuilding a 30 year old Land Rover Defender in my garage.
Georgia St John-Smith

Georgia works within our interim Contracts Division, focusing on quality assurance (including QP's) and validation. She previously worked in contract recruitment across various sectors including the NHS and local authorities. She graduated from Oxford Brookes University with an upper 2:1 in Economics, Politics and International Relations BA (Hons).

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I like working for HRS because I’m constantly engaging with people and seeking to better professional careers and ultimately, find the right candidate for the right role.

 Interesting fact: I’m a huge football fan and support Leicester City - yes I’m from Leicester. I’m also a former cheerleader and organised a charity calendar for 2016.
Matthew Langdon

Matthew is a biology graduate from the University of Kent. He works within the validation side of HRS. Previously, he worked in process validation and in retail.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I enjoy working at HRS as it allows me to work in a competitive environment and make a difference to the science Industry.

 Interesting fact: I was captain of the University of Kent’s Korfball team. The team went through to national finals.
Georgia Walden
Georgia Walden Recruitment Consultant
Georgia is a Recruitment Consultant specialising in Biologics. After finishing a degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Research Masters in Cell Biology and undertook a Graduate Management Course before moving to HRS.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I decided to join HRS as I really like recruitment and I felt this company was the best in the market place and somewhere I could really make a difference. I enjoy finding the right candidate for the role, especially when it is difficult to fill.

 Interesting fact: I moonlighted as a TV extra when I was younger and the back of my head can be seen in a number of well-known shows such as Kerching, Footballers Wives and Eastenders!
Connor Fielder

Connor is a graduate from Cardiff University. He graduated with a BSc in Biotechnology and moved to London from Surrey. He previously worked as a Research Assistant in a Plant Microbiology lab in Madrid, Spain for one year during his degree.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I really like working at HRS because of the honest strategy we employ and the fact that we are actively improving the science industry by placing the best talent in scientific roles. I really enjoy the challenge and the competitive and fun environment in the office.

 Interesting fact: I ran the Cardiff Half Marathon in October 2015 on behalf of Marie Curie with Cardiff University Football Club. I was beaten by four men running in a hollowed out rowing boat along with every other member of the football team. It’s the taking part that counts!
Taylor Duke
Taylor Duke Resource Apprentice
Taylor joined HRS as a Resource Apprentice. She completed a two year Business Extended Diploma at Hertford Regional College. The course gave her an insight to many sectors, which helped her decide that she wanted to work in recruitment.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I am passionate about assisting people with their desired jobs and helping to change lives. I am eager start my career and gain recruitment knowledge. I am surrounded by helpful people, who make the learning process an enjoyable one!

 Interesting fact: I also have an interest in Forensic Science and completed an online course to further my knowledge.
Chris Sowden
Chris Sowden Recruitment Consultant
Chris specialises in recruiting for Quality Assurance in the Pharmaceutical sector. He joined HRS after completing a Biochemistry degree at Oxford University.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I joined HRS because it provides me with a platform to impact the science industry whilst enabling me to meet people actually working on real life projects that ultimately make a difference to people’s lives. I enjoying helping the industry without having to spend all my time in the lab, which I knew wasn’t for me.

 Interesting fact: I spent 12 months of my Masters project researching how drugs such as cocaine enter the brain to explore if there was a key to curing diseases such as Alzheimer’s.
Sidney Lymath
Sidney Lymath Resource Apprentice
Sidney Studies at Harlow College and achieved a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business Studies. He joined the HRS team as an Apprentice, starting his career in recruitment. Since leaving college, he gained a range of working experience working in a variety of areas including a local coffee shop, aquatics and roofing.

What do you enjoy the most about working at HRS?
I enjoy working at HRS because my colleague are very down to earth and genuine. I also get a buzz for helping people find their dream jobs.

 Interesting fact: I performed in a theatre show in front of a crowd of 2,500 people in London.
