After graduating as a Biochemist from Cardiff University in 2006, Ricky has dedicated his career to supporting careers in the Life Sciences. Ricky’s core passion is to “Change Lives” which is where the vision for HRS came from. Also a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, fellow of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals and past Chair of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation’s Life Sciences committee.

Passionate for driving excellence in recruitment and raising the standards in the sector, Ricky is the Host of the “Recruiter Ricky – How to Get Hired Podcast” as well as an employability expert on a number of televised programmes including Stacey Dooley’s The Nine to Five on BBC2 and iPlayer.

Outside of HRS, Ricky is an investor and NED in a number of companies, mentor to a host of notable entrepreneurs and a family man doing his best to guide the way to his two young children.

 

Interesting fact:

Prior to setting up HRS, won the BBC1 Action game show Total Wipeout (2009) and was the Heavyweight and Tag Team Champion for a number of UK professional wrestling organisation. Interesting in 2012 Ricky was offered try-outs to join the WWE which he politely declined instead to take part in BBC’s The Apprentice. The rest was history!

Eve Hegarty
Managing Delivery Consultant

Eve specialises in life sciences recruitment at HRS. She moved into recruitment after spending six years working within the Life Sciences industry so has a sound knowledge and understanding of the sector and its requirements.

Chris Amey
Finance Director

Chris is a London Metropolitan University graduate and is ACCA qualified. He joined HRS to set up and establish the finance function. He has been working as FC/FD for the past 10 years in the service industry.

Interesting fact:

I was moments away from delivering my second son because we were having a home birth. We left it too late to phone the midwife – she eventually arrived moments before the birth to relieve me of my duties.

Georgia Walden
Team Leader - Biologics

Georgia is a Team Leader specialising in Biologics. After finishing a degree in Biomedical Sciences and a Research Masters in Cell Biology and undertook a Graduate Management Course before moving to HRS.

Interesting fact:

I moonlighted as a TV extra when I was younger and the back of my head can be seen in a number of well-known shows such as Kerching, Footballers Wives and Eastenders!

I decided to join HRS as I really like recruitment and I felt this company was the best in the market place and somewhere she could really make a difference. I enjoy finding the right candidate for the role, especially when it is difficult to fill.

Luke Webber
Sales Director

Luke has studied Cellular Molecular Biosciences at Sheffield Hallam University and prior to starting a career in recruitment he worked for GSK as a DMPK Scientist. Luke started his a career in recruitment in 2008 beginning as a founding member of ProClinical. During his time he helped grow and set up an international recruitment business that provided staffing solutions across Life sciences to UK, EU (Germany, Switzerland, Belgium etc) as well as US and beyond. Luke has extensive experience in life sciences recruitment covering QA, RA, Clinical, Biometrics, Medical and much more permanent, contract and project-based solutions.

Interesting fact:

I live in the Peak District and run a small farm that has Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Pigs, Goats, Sheep and Alpaca.

Rachel Smart
Senior Contracts and Compliance Officer

Rachel is our longest serving member of the operations function at HRS. Her background is payroll, administration, and compliance. She has evolved her role from working closely with the contracts team ensuring all our temporary workers are on the correct contracts and their on-boarding is fully compliant. She has grown this role to the wider business where she has increased and improved the compliance levels in our permanent recruitment processes.

 

Interesting fact:

Whilst out celebrating my 21st birthday, I met Olly Murrs. He was happy to be in many photos of me and my friends. I was also one of seven people to fit into a Smart car at the same time.

Why HRS?

I enjoy my role here at HRS because everyone is positive; from my colleagues in the office to the candidates themselves. There is a positive attitude in the office on a daily basis. It is nice to be involved in a company who cares about the people they are helping to place into work.

Ben Hamlin
Senior Client Relationship Manager

Ben has a wealth of experience within the recruitment sector, working alongside Ricky since 2007. During the last two years he worked as a Project Manager for a global leader in environmental solutions. We are delighted to have Ben on the team to lead the development of the Account Management and Service delivery teams.

Interesting fact:

During lockdown I managed to run a marathon around the New Forest. My intention is to run around the Isle of Wight in the not too distant future.

The working relationship I have with Ricky as well as other key members of the business was a significant factor in my decision to return. The culture, passion and atmosphere at HRS is fantastic!

Laura Fellowes
Senior Employee Engagement Officer

Laura has a variety of experience in customer and client facing roles such a Marketing and Events. Using these skills Laura heads up our engagement function at HRS and throughly enjoys overseeing and implementing new ideas across the company.

Laura also works in the Beauty industry as a freelancer, where she has done everything from fashion shoots to wedding day makeup.

David Powell
Associate Recruitment Director

David is leading the expansion of the HRS brand in the North of England to support existing and new clients with how they collect, use and protect their data. He started his recruitment career over 10 years ago, working alongside Ricky. Since then he has built and led teams in the Technology sector in Sussex, London and Manchester.

Interesting fact:

 I am a four times Ironman finisher and have raced in triathlons across Europe, my favourite location by far and away was racing in the Austrian Alps.

Debra Fong
Principal Delivery Consultant

Debra specialises in supporting Life Science recruitment in the Customer Success team. She has a degree in Architectural Engineering and after spending 2 years working as an Engineer, decided to go into Recruitment for a change and it’s been the best decision ever since.

 

 

Interesting fact:

I’ve had quite a few accidents as a child including having to get stitches on my lip from playing in water fight and falling unconscious in primary school after running into a pillar whilst playing tig!

 

Why HRS?

I like working for HRS because of its “life changing” motto and commitment. Even though I’m not a scientist myself, I like the idea of changing lives by placing candidates into companies who research and develop drugs to better people’s lives.

James Clemens
Marketing Manager

James originally started as a recruitment consultant in the actuarial sector in 2015 before moving across into marketing in 2017. After 3 years in the L&D sector James returns to recruitment with a host of experience across both digital and offline marketing channels.

Chloe is a Team Leader specialising within the QA market. Prior to joining HRS, Chloe has spent 5 years within recruitment specialising in the Manufacturing and Engineering industry, recruiting within Medical Device, Pharmaceutical and Precision Engineering businesses.

Christina is a Principal Recruitment Consultant, within the Commercial team. She graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BSc in Biological Sciences

Marcus has been working at Hyper Recruitment Solutions (HRS) for over half a decade which has included being promoted twice (currently a Team Leader of the Contract team). Marcus specialises in the contracts devision.

I played football for Ipswich and Watford Academy and County Level Under 18’s before going to university.

Leonie Williams
Senior Recruitment Consultant

Prior to HRS Leonie specialised in supporting the NHS within Information Management and Technology recruitment for over 3 years. She is now based in the Manchester office and specialises in permenant recruitment.

Interesting fact:

Was selected for an international volunteering programme to Thailand teaching English to school children in the Tsunami-stricken Khao Lak region for 2 months just before my final year at Uni. Easily the most rewarding thing I’ve done… prior to working at HRS of course!

Ben Vicentuan
Head of Talent Acquisition & Engagement

Ben started his recruitment career 14 years ago where he progressed to managing a team prior to focusing on his career in internal recruitment. He has headed up internal recruitment for a number of reputable recruitment brands on a regional, national and international level. He is now a monumental part in growing the HRS Life Changing team

Interesting fact:

Football is my favourite spectator sport (COYG!) but I have represented teams for rugby at university, club, county and South-East level

Ben is based at our Manchester office, he specialises in helping clients and candidates within data and cyber security. Carlie Aylott
Management Accountant

After finising sixth form, Carlie knew she wanted a career in finance. Maths, Business Studies and Economics is what she really enjoyed. Carlie began by gaining experience in a customer facing position at a supervisor level. She then started an accounts position for a property company. Since Carlie has flourished in here role and managed to work her way up to senior positions.

Interesting fact:

I have been a season ticket holder at Spurs for 18 years and have a bar area in my family home filled with memorabilia, photos and souvenirs we have collected over the years!

Nathan Fairhurst
Senior Recruitment Consultant

Nathan joined the HRS Manchester office for a new opportuity as a Computational Data Team leader. His background in recruitment has been focused on the sciences for the last 7 years, recruiting mainly laboratory roles within the Life Science & Industrial Chemical Markets.

Rhea Rughani

Sajid Mughal
Senior Recruitment Consultant

Sajid's journey into recruitment was an unusual one. He started out working in security , then onto managing a shisha lounge, before finally finding himself within the world of recruitment. Sajid started recruiting specialist locum consultants within the NHS for just under 5 years. Feeling it was a time for change, but still with a passion for recruitment, he felt HRS was the perfect move.

I have had dinner with former world champion David Haye (in Dubai) Amir Khan (in London) and Prince Naseem Hamed (in London)

Fabio is a Senior Recruitment Consultant and graduated from the University of Bath with a First Class Honours Degree in Sport and Social Science. Fabio is responsible for hiring contract Validation Engineers and leads.

Recruitment Consultant

Bethany graduated from Northumbria university with a degree in International Relations and Politics. Since, she relocated to Manchester to start a career in Recruitment at HRS.

Elliott Harvey
Senior Recruitment Consultant

Elliott is from Lowton in Wigan. Previous to HRS, Elliott did an Internship with the Westminster Council Prevent Team which deals with anti-terrorism. He now works as a Recruitment Consulant in the HRS Manchester office.

I’m 6ft6 but can’t slam dunk when I play basketball.

Recruitment Consultant

After studying A-Levels Kieran began to pursue his career in sales and recruitment. In his previous employment Kieran worked within the construction sector. He thoroughly enjoys his job, speaking with people and building great relationships.

Sunnie Morley
Associate Recruitment Consultant

Sunnie is an Associate Recruitment Consultant  who is excited to get her recruitment career off the ground. Having a background in Anthropology, her main goal is to change as many lives as possible to the best of her ability.

Interesting fact:

I am a classically-trained pianist that has been performing since 3 years old. I taught myself guitar and have a tendency to sing my heart out!

Elliott Howells
Recruitment Consultant

Elliott studied Biochemistry at Lancaster University and graduate with a 2:1. After graduating during the pandemic he worked at a COVID-19 testing centre for a year until the opportunity to work with HRS arose. HRS is Elliott's first role in an office environment and so he is excited to see what the future brings.

I’ve played the piano since the age of 4 and can play whatever song you like!

Ellie Alexander
Associate Recruitment Consultant

Ellie graduated from University of Leeds with a degree in English Literature. She has written articles about the UK Spiking crisis and the Healthcare sector during COVID, and a collection of short stories. She owns a small sustainable business selling pre-owned clothes and accessories and has done lots of solo travelling abroad. Ellie joined HRS to begin a new challenge in the world of recruitment.

Nathan is originally from Worcestershire and is now based in the HRS Manchester office. He has a background in the sporting industry following and playing a variety of sports specifically football (supporting Aston Villa). He would one day like to travel, especially to Asia.

Stacey Rose graduated from Birmingham City University with a first-class degree in Psychology. While studying at university, Stacey gained excellent customer service experience from working in fine dining restaurants. She now aims to use her skills and knowledge to build a successful career at HRS, whilst also supporting people to find their dream jobs and change their lives.

Riley has previously worked in recruitment focusing on the Tech and Gaming industries before moving onto other customer facing roles to focus on a boxing career. Following success in that venture he has now joined HRS to continue the development of his recruitment career.

Interesting fact:

I’m a huge music fanatic with a big Vinyl collection. I’m a hip-hop head through and through but I love just about every genre. That being said I have no idea what’s going on in the charts right now, I’m stuck in the 90’s and beyond!

James had been working in finance for over 7 years before joining HRS. When his not having fun with spreadsheets, he also Roller and ice skate at local rinks.

Timi Asseez
Recruitment Consultant - Permanent

Timi works on the Biologics team specialising in the biotech, biopharma, and biotherapeutic sectors. He has worked as a MLA in a laboratory and a health advisor within the NHS. Timi soon found his passion working in a sales role and enjoys working in faced-paced environments whilst being able to communicate with others, come across different personalities, and hear about life stories and experiences that inspire and motivate him.

I have travelled to 15 countries and aim to get to 20 by 2025

Jodie Cowperthwaite

Originally from the Lakes, Jodie moved to Liverpool to study psychology with the ambition of improving the lives of others. Having completed her degree and gaining some valuable customer service experience, this goal has now brought her to HRS in Manchester.

Cameron Guest
Associate Recruitment Consultant

Cameron completed his studies in accounting & finance at the university of east London in 2022 (achieving a 1:1) , after only a week of completing his studies he was looking for industry experience. Cameron has always been someone who has been a go getter, these characteristics are what led him to leave a small town in the northeast to move to the big apple of the UK. After studying Criminology with Quantitative Methods at university, Bradley always wanted to work in the Navy, after a change of heart he ended up working at Waterstones Gower Street for a few years, and fell in love with the book world. Thereafter, he needed a change of pace, and thought he would test his skills in the world of life science recruitment!

I'm an identical twin! Which comes with its challenges, my mum got me and my twin mixed up whilst she was at the hospital, my name could very well be Morgon.
