Staff Testimonials
HRS Staff Reviews.
Coming from an Economics background with no science knowledge, I connected with HRS’s mission of changing lives. The role is challenging and fast-paced, but the support from the team and the culture of celebrating each other’s successes make it incredibly fulfilling. I’ve developed valuable transferable skills in sales, market knowledge, and communication.
Beyond the professional growth, HRS offers amazing incentives and unforgettable team outings. I've not only had opportunities to travel, but I’ve also formed friendships that I consider family.

I hold a BSc in Pharmacology from the University of Bristol, where I discovered a passion for Neuroscience. After graduating, I moved into sales and marketing and later transitioned into life science recruitment, combining my scientific background with commercial skills. Since joining the industry in late 2024, I’ve built a solid understanding of recruitment processes and strong insight into the life sciences sector. I've hit early milestones, including High Performer recognition and an EOQ prize. Most importantly, I feel valued by my team and leadership, which motivates me to keep growing in this field.

With 15+ years in specialist recruitment across Biotech, Pharma, Life Sciences, and Engineering, I joined HRS in 2013. I’ve grown from Recruitment Manager to Associate Director, leading teams and driving strategy. HRS’s mission, placing people at the heart of scientific advancement, resonates with me. Our culture celebrates success, growth, and development through training, recognition, and shared values. I'm proud of our impact, connecting top talent with companies solving global challenges. At HRS, we don’t just fill roles; we shape careers and advance the future of science.

Recruitment can be challenging, but HRS provides a unique environment where you continue to be inspired and learn, whilst having a great time doing it!
After over 15 years in the recruitment space, it is safe to say that HRS feels like home! It’s a privilege to be able to come into an environment every day, where your colleagues are genuinely as passionate as you are when it comes to creating a positive impact on peoples’ lives. Recruitment done well, collaboratively and in the right way!

What first attracted me to HRS was the fun, inclusive culture, and it truly delivers. We wrap up early every Friday with team games, and our quarterly company nights out are a great way to get everyone together.
HRS genuinely supports personal growth and career progression, and peer recognition is a big part of the culture, awards from managers outside your team highlight company-wide appreciation.
I also love the community involvement, from charity dress-up days to local donation drives. It’s a place where you feel valued, connected, and part of something bigger.

I began my recruitment career in 2008 with Ricky Martin, founder of HRS, supporting the sciences. Knowing Ricky’s drive, joining HRS to lead our Technology sector was a natural step. I now oversee recruitment across the UK, EU, and US. HRS is defined by its passionate people - we celebrate success through high achiever events, including overseas trips. One of my favourite initiatives is our weekly team bonding activity. I love the variety in my role, especially meeting clients and candidates making a real impact. HRS also gives back - my favourite cause is the Hyper Forest, planting trees for every life we change.

Working at HRS is more than just a job - it’s being part of a company that truly cares. Every day, I see the impact we make, whether it's supporting clients, helping colleagues grow, or driving positive change.
The leadership values our contributions, and the culture fosters both personal and professional development.
It’s rewarding to work for a company that puts people first and makes a real difference.

I joined the company straight out of university with a background in business management, drawn by the high earning potential and independence. Nearly eight years on, I’m still here and thriving. I’ve had access to excellent training and development, and I’m part of a close-knit team that truly supports one another. The culture makes a huge difference in day-to-day work.
What makes this role truly meaningful is the impact we have on the pharmaceutical industry - knowing our work helps improve lives. It’s a dynamic, challenging role that keeps things fresh and rewarding every day.

Working at HRS is truly meaningful to me because I know I’m helping change people’s lives or getting a step closer to doing so every day.

I love learning more each day, and I feel privileged to have that opportunity at HRS.
