Electrical Engineer

ROLE OVERVIEW

An exciting role has arisen for an Electrical Field Engineer to join a leading company in the data centre construction industry based in Germany. As an Electrical Field Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that power systems, grounding, backup power (UPS, generators), and monitoring systems are installed correctly, meet design specifications, and adhere to strict uptime and redundancy standards.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Electrical Field Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Monitor electrical works including cable trays, wiring, switchgear, transformers, panel boards, PDUs, UPS, and battery systems to ensure installations meet project specs, NEC/IEC, IEEE, and data centre design standards.

2. Coordinate with general contractors, MEP engineers, vendors, and commissioning agents, supporting integration with BMS and EPMS, and interfacing with IT infrastructure teams for power connectivity to racks and servers.

3. Oversee testing and commissioning activities such as Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), power-up procedures, load bank tests, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST), ensuring full documentation and sign-offs before energization.

4. Maintain red-line drawings, as-built markups, test reports, daily site logs, and support RFI and NCR processes, participating in QA/QC audits and punch-list resolution.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Electrical Field Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

2. Proven industry experience in electrical systems within data centre construction.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with NEC/IEC, IEEE standards, and data centre design specifications.
