A leading organisation in Belgium is seeking a Project Excellence Specialist to support the successful delivery of Large Capital Projects Delivery (LCPD). As the Project Excellence Specialist, you will be instrumental in driving the implementation of project management tools, frameworks, and governance structures. This role is pivotal in embedding best practices and ensuring consistent, efficient project execution. Additionally, you will champion Lean methodologies across the organisation to continuously improve project delivery performance and operational efficiency.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Project Excellence Specialist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Change Management & Project Tools Implementation
- Assist each LCPD Project Leader in planning and executing the change management strategy to support the adoption of project management frameworks, governance, and tools.
- Facilitate methodology awareness, onboarding sessions, communication plans, and training to ensure stakeholder buy-in and long-term engagement.
- Monitor and report on adoption progress, address resistance, and provide ongoing support to teams.
- Drive the LCPD "can do attitude" across the organisation.
2. Governance & Coordination
- Lead the development and maintenance of the LCPD Project Handbook.
- Coordinate and drive the project gating process, including the facilitation of gating committees in strong collaboration with the IPO team and broader organisation.
- Oversee the setup and continuous improvement of project governance processes, including stage gate reviews, risk and issue management, and decision-making structures.
- Maintain key project documentation and track progress, issues, and lessons learned.
3. Operational Excellence on Project Delivery
- Lead workshops and training sessions across the organisation on Lean principles, including but not limited to TIMWOOD (elimination of waste), Kaizen (continuous improvement), 5S, and visual management.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and implement Lean opportunities throughout the project lifecycle (design, procurement, construction, commissioning).
- Measure and communicate the impact of Lean initiatives on project cost, schedule, quality, and team engagement.
4. Continuous Improvement & Best Practice Sharing
- Foster a culture of excellence by capturing lessons learned, benchmarking internal and external best practices, and developing LCPD project tools and templates.
- Facilitate cross-functional learning sessions and communities of practice to reinforce high-performance project delivery standards.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Relevant degree in a related field.
2. Proven industry experience in project management or a similar role.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with Lean methodologies and project management tools.
