

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for an Equipment Engineer to join a leading life sciences company based in the Buffalo area. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional passionate about equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, specifically within lyophilization (freeze drying) systems. The role offers the chance to work directly with cutting-edge biotech equipment, ensuring optimal operational performance and reliability.
As an Equipment Engineer, you'll play a vital role in supporting the installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of sophisticated life sciences and biotech equipment, focusing on freeze dryers and related systems. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive on practical engagement with equipment rather than extensive documentation.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Equipment Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
• Support installation, commissioning, and FAT/SAT activities for new and existing equipment through a hands-on approach.
• Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on lyophilization systems and related utilities to ensure continuous operation.
• Assist in customer site preparation for installation events, including machine assembly and readiness activities.
• Conduct on-site and remote troubleshooting and fault finding, addressing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues as they arise.
• As the Equipment Engineer, you will ensure the reliability and performance of equipment throughout the operational lifecycle.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Equipment Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
• A Degree or higher level in Electronic Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on field experience.
• Proven industry experience with lyophilization and freeze drying equipment in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environments.
• A working knowledge and practical experience with mechanical and electrical systems, PLC-controlled equipment, and fault troubleshooting.
