ER Advisor

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an ER (Employee Relations) Advisor (Interim) to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing organization based in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive HR professional to provide expert employee relations advice within a fast-paced, regulated environment. The role offers the chance to work closely with management and employees alike, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant handling of a broad range of employee relations matters.

In this pivotal position, you will act as a trusted advisor, helping to mitigate employment risk and foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture. Based within the HR team, you’ll support organisational change initiatives while promoting best practices in employee management on site.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties as the ER Advisor (Interim) will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Lead the management and resolution of employee relations cases, ensuring compliance with employment law and company policies.
  • Support managers in handling disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence, and performance issues effectively.
  • Conduct investigations, hearings, and appeals, coaching managers on best practices and preparing all associated documentation.
  • Provide pragmatic, risk-based advice to minimise legal and organisational exposure.
  • As the ER Advisor, you will support organisational change initiatives, including restructuring and consultation processes.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the ER Advisor (Interim) we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • A Degree or higher level in HR, Employment Law, or relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, People Management).
  • Proven experience in handling employee relations cases independently, ideally within a regulated manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, ACAS codes of practice, and employment case law.
  • Experience supporting managers through disciplinary, grievance, and performance processes, with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
