We are currently looking for a QC Equipment Engineer to support our client with laboratory equipment renewal, replacement, qualification and retirement in a regulated Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment on an initial 6 month contract.
As the QC Equipment Engineer you will deliver defined, outcome-based work packages, helping equipment owners translate lifecycle risks into approved renewal plans, compliant documentation and completed implementation handovers. This assignment offers scope to combine technical judgement with practical delivery, keeping laboratory equipment fit for purpose and supporting business continuity. You will write SOPs for use of QC Equipment.
The QC Equipment Engineer will determine the method, sequencing and day-to-day organisation of services within agreed milestones, site-access requirements, GMP controls and health and safety obligations.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the QC Equipment Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. As the QC Equipment Engineer you will work with equipment owners to define renewal and replacement scope, priorities, user requirements and acceptance criteria. Develop an agreed renewal plan and prioritised tracker covering equipment status, lifecycle assessments, obsolescence, criticality, dependencies, budget inputs, procurement lead times and implementation milestones.
2. As the QC Equipment Engineer you will coordinate supplier engagement, technical evaluations, quotations, purchase requisition inputs, delivery, installation, commissioning, qualification and operational handover. Monitor supplier deliverables against acceptance criteria, challenge documentation gaps and support retirement and decommissioning, including data retention, archiving, disposal and inventory updates.

Follow applicable standard operating procedures, current GMP, good documentation practice, data integrity expectations and approved validation and engineering standards. Support deviation and discrepancy resolution, escalating compliance, safety, delivery and business-continuity risks promptly.
4. As the QC Equipment Engineer you will coordinate focused work-package reviews, recording decisions, actions, risks and dependencies while equipment owners retain accountability for technical decisions and final approvals. Provide concise progress reporting and deliver qualification evidence, closure packs and orderly handovers of completed outputs and open actions. Complete required training and access controls, use suitable professional resources and tools and, where contractually permitted, arrange an appropriately qualified substitute subject to GMP training, confidentiality and site-access requirements.
