Director / Head of Tumor Immunology Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for a Director / Head of Tumor Immunology to join a leading biotechnology focused on advancing cancer immunotherapies. This exciting opportunity is based with our client’s R&D center, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative strategies to combat cancer through immunology. This role offers an inspiring environment for a seasoned scientist to lead vital projects in a collaborative, dynamic setting, with some flexibility for remote work.

As a key member of the scientific leadership team, you will oversee cutting-edge research activities, support project progression from early discovery through IND filing, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of immunotherapy solutions.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Director / Head of Tumor Immunology will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
    • Design and oversee experimental plans for pathway validation and target identification, encompassing assay development in vitro and in vivo, in collaboration with the scientific team.
    • Execute experiments, interpret results, validate data, and communicate findings effectively to the scientific team and executive management.
    • Lead and collaborate with research scientists and associates to ensure achievement of project milestones and scientific objectives.
    • Manage external research collaborations with academic and industry partners to foster innovation.
    • As the Head of Tumor Immunology, you will provide strategic leadership and foster a forward-thinking approach to immunotherapy and T‑cell engager development projects.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Director / Head of Tumor Immunology we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
    • A Degree or higher level in biological sciences, bioengineering, or a related field.
    • Proven experience with at least 5 years in laboratory research, including leadership of immunology or oncology projects.
    • Extensive hands-on experience in assay development (in vitro & in vivo), immune cell phenotyping, and expertise in multi-color flow cytometry and tissue isolation techniques.
    • Demonstrated ability as a project leader for multispecific or bispecific antibody programs, managing projects from inception through to IND filing.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
