Maintenance Engineer - Night Shift Opportunity

ROLE OVERVIEW

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for a new challenge? A leading company in the pharmaceutical industry based in Devon, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer for their night shift. This role offers a competitive salary per annum (including a generous shift premium), plus a bonus and significant benefits. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 21:00pm – 06:30am.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Maintenance Engineer will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Provide comprehensive, multi-skilled support to the Packing department, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and modification of electrical and mechanical equipment.
2. Troubleshoot reactive repairs and follow planned maintenance schedules to ensure machinery efficiency and reliability.
3. Develop and implement cost-effective solutions to improve machinery performance and minimise downtime.
4. Liaise with contractors, engineering specialists, manufacturers, and parts suppliers to complete work efficiently and deliver high-quality results.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Maintenance Engineer, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in an engineering discipline or an engineering apprenticeship.
2. Proven industry experience in a similar engineering maintenance role, ideally in a highly regulated ‘clean room’ environment.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with current regulations, including environmental, health and safety (EHS), OPEX, and process/validation compliance standards.

Skills and Experience:

- A natural problem-solver with a creative yet disciplined approach to work.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills, able to work well on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good numeracy skills with a commercial mindset, and proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- COMPEX certification and experience working in ATEX areas would be beneficial.
