

We are currently looking for a Mass Spectrometry Scientist to join a leading Pharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area. As the Mass Spectrometry Scientist, you will be responsible for supporting characterisation work packages and investigations within the Characterisation and Material Sciences team.
This is an initial 12 month contract with likely extension.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Mass Spectrometry Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. As the Mass Spectrometry Scientist, you will perform analysis of protein therapeutics using mass spectrometric techniques.
2. As the Mass Spectrometry Scientist, you will utilise HPLC and electrophoresis as necessary.
3. As the Mass Spectrometry Scientist, you will maintain accurate records and contribute to the authorship of analytical aspects of regulatory submissions, technical procedures, protocols, and reports.
4. As the Mass Spectrometry Scientist, you will communicate technical analytical issues to senior analytical management.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting position as the Mass Spectrometry Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a scientific discipline.
2. Proven industry experience in mass spectrometry.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with protein chemistry.
This role is perfect for an enthusiastic scientist eager to develop skills and experience in the biopharmaceutical sector. You will have the chance to learn several bio-analytical assay techniques and develop assays for new protein and biochemical analysis, supporting the development of novel protein therapeutics.
You will also tackle complex scientific problems, communicate technical analytical issues and results to other group members and project teams, and learn about industrial and regulatory guidelines. The role involves instrument troubleshooting and applying the latest technologies to protein characterisation.
The Characterisation group collaborates with teams and projects across sites, as well as academic collaborations. The group works closely with Method Development, Quality Control, Process, and Formulation groups.
In addition to technical skills, you must have a genuine enthusiasm for scientific research, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
