KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Upstream Process Scientist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. As an Upstream Process Scientist you will be performing pilot scale upstream process development activities, including the preparation and operation of bioreactor processes at 50L and 200L scale in single-use systems.
2. As an Upstream Process Scientist you will be designing experiments, scheduling, resourcing, sourcing raw materials, and maintaining equipment as appropriate.
3. As an Upstream Process Scientist you will be performing harvest process development activities at lab and pilot scale, supporting the future strategy for successful harvest processing.
4. As an Upstream Process Scientist you will be collaborating with the wider DS process development team and GMP facilities to ensure the successful development and scale-up of upstream and harvest processes.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Upstream Process Scientist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. A relevant degree in a scientific discipline, with a Master's degree preferred.
2. Proven industry experience in the operation of lab and pilot scale cell culture processes, including various bioreactor systems and excellent aseptic technique.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with harvest processing of biologics.
4. Ability to design, organize, schedule, and operate upstream and harvest development activities, including excellent data interpretation and drawing conclusions.
