

ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for a Senior Scientist to join a leading pharmaceutical organisation focused on innovative preclinical research solutions. Based within our client’s dynamic team, you will contribute to cutting-edge translational in vitro models, including organoid culture, organ-on-chip systems, and microphysiological technologies, with an emphasis on autoimmune and inflammatory disease models. This is a fantastic opportunity for a scientifically driven individual to make an impactful difference in early-stage therapeutic development.
In this role, you will collaborate across discovery and development projects, helping to accelerate the progression of potential therapies through advanced in vitro systems, all while working in a highly innovative and supportive environment.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your duties as the Senior Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
• Design, develop, and optimise complex disease models based on organoids for immunology and inflammation-focused research.
• Implement and refine in vitro assays using state-of-the-art multi-organ on-chip platforms.
• Conduct diverse analytical techniques such as FACS, MSD, ELISA, and qPCR to generate high-quality data.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues encountered during assay execution and model development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery of robust data to support project goals.
• Author protocols, SOPs, and technical reports aligned with internal quality standards.
• As the Senior Scientist, you will present scientific findings in clear, impactful formats during internal meetings.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Senior Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
• A Degree or higher level in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Pharmaceutical Chemistry / In Vitro Biology / Cell Biology).
• Proven experience of at least 2 years in organoid culture and organ-on-chip model development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with FACS, MSD, ELISA, and qPCR based assays.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in complex in vitro systems and knowledge of statistical data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific documentation and presentation purposes.
