Senior Business Development Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join a leading Science and Technology business specializing in the food and drink sector. Based in a dynamic environment, this role offers an exciting opportunity to drive growth by promoting a diverse portfolio that includes analysis, testing, and technical consultancy services.

In this position, you will play a key part in identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and enhancing sales performance within a forward-thinking organization dedicated to innovation and quality.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your duties as the Senior Business Development Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Reporting into the Associate Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for growing and promoting services across analysis, testing, and technical consultancy, through active business development, targeted campaigns, and collaboration with operational and technical teams to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Proactively identify and interpret key market trends and sales data to generate revenue, lead targeted sales campaigns, and cultivate long-term partnership opportunities.
  • Drive market share and revenue growth by identifying new customers, and actively upselling and cross-selling services to existing clients.
  • Lead business development activities for new or existing business, coordinate responses to opportunities, and manage client relationships effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of all account engagements using CRM systems and other reporting tools as required.
  • As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will be instrumental in expanding the company’s footprint within the industry and ensuring sustained growth.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Senior Business Development Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • A Degree or higher level in a Science or Technology related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven industry experience in a consultative, technical sales environment selling analytical and/or microbiology testing and technical services to the food and drink industry.
  • A strong communicator and team player, with the ability to work independently in a target-driven environment.
